Summary:
The Network Analyst’s role is to plan, develop, install and maintain all local and wide area network connections and communication links. This person will also troubleshoot network performance issues, as well as analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions. The Network Analyst responsibilities include enterprise voice and data communication, firewalls, video conferencing, cell phones, disaster recovery, vendor contracts, billing, resource management, and planning.



Qualifications: (including specific Education and License requirements)

    Desired Formal Education & Certifications
  • Minimum of Associate Degree in computer/technology or related field with emphasis on data and voice communication preferred

  • Certifications on Cisco network hardware

  • Certifications and/or training on Avaya voice solutions


    Desired Knowledge & Experience
  • Experience with wide- and local-area networks including experience with common-carrier data networks

  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, network routing protocols, and traffic management/priority management

  • Keen awareness and adherence to principles regarding security and change controls

  • Experience with installation of routers, switches, phone systems, firewalls and other standard network equipment

  • Familiarity with setup and management of mobile device (Blackberry) and related services

  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office tools – Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, OneNote

  • Ability to travel for periods of 3-5 days with occasional weekends, including coordination of travel plans

  • Ability to work with people from different company responsibility levels and different disciplines with varying degrees of technical expertise

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing with a variety of different audiences

  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations

  • Must be able to lift and move 30-50 pounds occasionally when relocating/installing equipment

Duties:
    1.   Provide timely response to address network and voice performance and/or availability issues.

    2.   Adherence to policies, procedures and standards in regards to configuration, management and maintenance of network and voice infrastructure.

    3.   Perform necessary management and maintenance enterprise-wide on network and voice hardware such as routers, firewalls, voice/data switches, etc.

    4.   Maintain the security, stability reliability and availability of the network and voice infrastructure through diligent management and maintenance practices.

    5.   Configuring and managing routing of data and voice traffic on wide- and local-area networks to achieve best performance to support business needs.

    6.   Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.

    7.   Order, manage, and maintain cellular phones including troubleshooting mobile phone related issues as well as interfacing with related vendors as necessary.

    8.   Install and manage video and voice conferencing and voice recording systems.

    9.   Assist with oversight of vendor billing associated with data and voice communication services.

    10.   Participate in vendor and business partner relationships pertaining to communication hardware, service providers, data and voice circuits.

    11.   Collaborate with all IT staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of data and voice services for fulfilling business objectives and processes.

    12.   In conjunction with business and department priorities and directives, conduct vendor and product research on software and systems products to address business needs.

    13.   Availability for travel, emergency and off hours maintenance during non-business workday and weekends.
